Turkestan

Turkestan is one of Kazakhstan's most historic cities, with an archaeological record dating back to the 4th century. It was a major trade center on the Silk Road and is now the spiritual capital of the Turkic world. The centerpiece is the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
